A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
It is with great pleasure that I present the Massachusetts Dental Assistant Association’s new and updated website.
If you are visiting our web site for the first time, thank you for visiting. If you are not a member of the dental assistants association, please take a minute to look at what the Association has to offer. I encourage you and all dental assistants to become members of the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA), through their web site: www.dentalassistant.org.
Members receive $50,000 of Liability Insurance, per incident at no additional charge, the Dental Assistant Journal six times per year which contains one free CE course per year, plus the opportunity to sign up for a weekly e-newsletter 24/7. Finally, the ADAA has a catalog of continuing education catalog with courses you will need to maintain your registration.
If you are a returning visitor and ADAA/MDAA member, you already know the many benefits, both tangible and intangible, that the association has provided you. I hope you find this new and improved web site helpful and informative and that you will visit often. Thank you for visiting again.
I have highlighted just a few of the benefits available. Once you join ADAA, membership in the Massachusetts Dental Assistant Association (MADAA) is included. Our Association publishes a newsletter four times a year with local news and announcements. Whenever news happens, you will receive a special edition.
As an Association, we are very excited about the law that took effect on October 15, 2014 requiring all Dental Assistants to be registered with the Board of Registration in Dentistry (BORID) by December 31, 2014.
By enacting this law, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Department of Public Health have clearly supported our long-standing opinion that Dental Assistants play an integral part in direct patient care and should be registered to perform the duties delegated by BORID. This registration protects the patient and elevates the dental assistant to a higher level of professionalism.
You are able to register online by visiting the BOIRD website at: www.mass.gov/dph/boards/dn
Once again thank you for visiting the MDAA website. I hope our site serves your needs. To receive our e-news make sure to send us your email address and feel free to visit our website often! Questions and comments may be addressed via our Help Desk at MDAA.Help@gmail.com.
